Merry Christmas everyone! :)

As we are closing in on the end chapter of 2008 and welcoming exciting year of 2009, I like to make a public new year resolution for myself! It will be to DRIVE OUT those stored and unwanted body fat that I have been neglected to care about...we all know that your health first, people second and money last, there is no healthy life, there will be no future! I will prioritize it so that I can follow through everyday. Other than doing exercise and eating healthy. I like to offer couple of my new discoveries/personal experience that we can apply to keep that goal in check! :)

1. Burn calories without breaking a sweat (Yes, you heard it right, I read it on a health magazine)
It's no secret that drinking plenty of water is good for you, but did you know that drinking water at a lower temperature will boost your metabolism? A study by German scientists showed a thermogenic boost when subjects drank water at 71.6 F because it required extra energy to warm it to 98 F!
The Benefit: For every two eight ounce glasses of cold water, you can burn an extra 96 calories. And as a bonus, research showed that the calories men burned came from stored fat.


2. Keep your room temperature below normal
Ok, it really helps to live in places like Chicago which you get extreme cold temperature outside during winter time and if no heat is on, it will be extreme uncomfortable inside! But instead of full blown the heat like there is no tomorrow, try to set the heat thermostat at the acceptable uncomfortable temperature during active hours! Lets say that outside is about 0 F with negative 20 wind chill...perfect! If no heat is on, your room temperature will drop fast to very uncomfortable level! In my personal preference, I will keep my room temperature to about 40-50 F during day time and I would do anything to keep myself warm without every touch the heat(You can turn to 55+ above when go to sleep)! BTW, when your body starts shivering, YOU LOSE FAT AUTOMATICALLY! ;) Just be active in a cold room and you can loose lots of store fat with just that and also you get to save tons of gas bill....double whammy if you ask me! :)
