Rihanna Speaks Out About Chris Brown Assault On GMA & 20/20 [VIDEOS]

Rihanna Speaks Out About Chris Brown Assault On GMA
Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer she's speaking out about domestic violence because she wants to be a lesson for young girls, if it happened to her, it could happen to anyone.

Rihanna opens up for the first time about Chris brown and the domestic violence incident in an exclusive interview with ABC’s Diane sawyer

Superstar singer Rihanna says she’s going public about the Chris brown incident because she wants young girls to learn from her.

I just didn't realize how much of an impact I had on these girls until that happened. It was a wake-up call for me, big time, //

I’ll say that to any girl who is going through domestic violence: Don't react off of love. F love. To come out of the situation and look at it third-person and for what it really is, you then make your decision. Because love is so blind."

Rihanna admits she made the mistake of going back to Chris over and over…

about 8 or 9 times actually.//
It’s completely normal to go back. You lie to yourself. As soon as the physical wounds heal, you want the whole thing to go away. When I realized my selfish act of love could result in someone getting killed, I couldn’t be easy with that. Couldn’t be responsible for telling them to go back.

The singer says she was ashamed this happened to her and embarrassed that she fell in love with this kind of person….

A lot of people who experienced what I did, but not in public. It made it really difficult…Here it goes, my little bit of privacy was exposed… something nobody wants anybody to know. So here I am., the whole world knows.

It happened to me, if it happened to me, it could happen to anyone….

Part 2 of Rihanna‘s emotional interview airs Friday morning on GMA, and then Friday night on ABC’s 20/20. Singer Rihanna is breaking her silence about the night then-boyfriend Chris Brown beat her, telling Diane Sawyer that he had "no soul in his eyes."

"It wasn't the same person that says I love you. It was not those... eyes," she told Sawyer in an exclusive interview. "He had ... no soul in his eyes. Just blank. ...He was clearly blacked out. There was no person when I looked at him."

The February 2009 assault left the 21-year-old battered and bruised, and Brown was sentenced to five years of probation, community labor, and one year of domestic-violence counseling.

"All I kept thinking all the time: When is it going to stop? When it is going to stop?" she said.

After the attack, Rihanna briefly reunited with Brown, but said that she never forgave him.
